"Merklen" Mahogany Twisted Leg Stand

Solid Mahogany square stand with barley twist turned legs and cross stretcher.  The feet are cast brass with a wooden ball.  This is a large size parlor table.  The unusual twist turned legs are a style well used by the furniture company, Merklen Bros.  in their furniture and architectural fretwork pieces.  One of their trademarks was the use of cast brass claws with wooden balls.
