Library Tables are often cut down into coffee tables because they are usually worth more that way. Since the Coffee Table didn't really come into existence until the 1920's, 30's and 40's you should expect to see Turn of the Century Coffee Tables as a modified version of the Library Table or other piece of furniture. The best modifications are ones that still retain their correct proportions, their strength and don't look "Cut Down". At Up the Creek, we pay extra attention to all those criteria when we modify a piece of furniture. If they aren't going to look right or won't be strong, they don't get cut. |
