"Hastings Co." 54" Dining Table (inventory # GG-89) Such a simple design for the base, but in Hasting's style, it is ever so pleasing. And with the addition of the Tyden Duo-Locking mechanism for the split pedestal base, it is ever so well designed mechanically. As you can see, the table top opens to accept up to three leaves while keeping the base closed. The leaves can also be locked into place with the incremental stops on the lock. To open the base, a separate lever is opened. These particular locks are made to be adjustable so the tightness of the fit on the pedestal can always be fine tuned. This table has five leaves with matching skirts that take the table from a 54" round out to a 100" oval. If you look at the top, you will note the way Hastings has matched quartersawn board so that the center split barely shows in the grain pattern. Another Hasting's mark of excellence. This is a solid quartersawn oak table top with a solid slightly molded skirt. Another interesting detail is the recessed panel molded pedestal with a cove molded trim around the bottom. The deeply carved "S" feet also take the traditional Empire Revival band saw leg to another level. The platform base does use some veneer on the side edges, otherwise the table is all solid. Size ................ 29.5"
Tall x 54" Round extends to 99.5"
