"Gunn Company" Stacking Bookcases
(inventory # GG-128 and GG-129)

Here are a magnificent matched pair of quartersawn oak stacking bookcases made by the Gunn Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Mich.  These cases have all their original backs, most of them still showing the stamped labels as shown and both of them still retain their triangular paper labels on the backs of the top sections- though we had to protect these with cellophane tape so they wouldn't be lost during the restoration process.  The individual sections transition from a tall one at the bottom (15.25" tall) to two moderate ones in the center (13.25" tall) to three shorter ones on top (11.25" Tall).  Each section will accommodate 10" of depth inside.  One of the unique features of Gunn bookcases is that they can be totally taken apart for ease of shipping.  We have not screwed the backs into these bookcases on purpose.  The holes are there to guide you when you are ready to make each section totally rigid.  As it is,  once these cases are assembled like you see, they are perfectly square and firm.  Feel free to ask us how they disassemble if you are not familiar with this style.  One pane of glass looks new, the rest are all wavy.  All the pulls are original.
