Oak Northwind Hall Bench
(inventory # FF-9)

This late Victorian hall bench has a lift seat for extra storage below for your slippers.  The pawfeet support a gallery of spool carving style spindles on either side of the carved and recessed paneled back.  Quartersawn oak is featured throughout this piece as further evidence of the quality that went into it's design.  The carved Northwind Face is centered in the back.  The two panels are framed by some interesting detailed moldings.  A cap rail continues all the way around the back and arms.  Not shown, but the back of this piece is well finished also and even has a couple of wood bumpers to keep it from hitting your wall. Totally re-glued and strong now.  Ready for another 100 years of use.
